I am celebrating weekend vibes with this ’90s inspired outfit. The light wash jacket takes me back to my teenage years watching my mom layer denim on denim with her refined taste. The light vintage wash adds softness and distress for a true vintage finish. The sky blue jeans are soft, lightweight and dyed to a pitch perfect blue. This outfit certainly feels natural and reminiscent to my teenage years.

I am very much ready to relax and recharge and these are the tips that work for me best:

1. spend time with loved ones and friends

This is a tough one for me since my family is 6000 miles away on the other side of the pond. Thank goodness for skype! I love my weekend chats with my parents that usually take at least an hour or two. I am one of those very lucky wifeys who have a wonderful mama-in-law. I talk to my American mama once a week who is a wonderful support and gives me a different perspective.

Besides family, I feel blessed to have found a dear friend and mentor on this side of the globe. Our morning coffee chats and his perspective (with lots of wisdom, may I add) are invaluable to me.

The bottom line is to keep these relationships going no matter how busy life gets. No excuse is good enough to miss a call with your closest family members and friends.

2. have a hobby

Having a creative outlet has been tremendous for me to be able to turn off my day job and focus my energy on something completely different. Find something that you are committed to and passionate about. It will not just allow you to have a break, but you will feel rested and energized by the time the new week starts.

3. weekend break

Go away for a mini trip! Going offline and changing the environment might be just what you need to charge up that battery.

4. disconnect

Stay away from your phone and don’t check your social media. Sounds impossible? Just give it a try! You will be amazed how little you will miss it while you’re having so much fun.

5. reflect

Take an hour to reflect on certain events and your actions during the week. Did things go down the way you planned them? Would you have done anything differently? You need to reflect in order to be the best person you can possibly be.

I love your outfit. I especially like the look of your jeans with the bow detail and those white shoes really tie the outfit together. I have been looking for a nice classic pair of white heels myself. Love your weekend tips by the way.
