defining moments in a woman’s life

defining moments in a woman's life -

I feel more secure and self confident in my thirties than I ever did in my twenties. Does this sound familiar to you? Ever wondered why? Is it life experience? A big change in life? Looking back in your journey and how you’ve changed, you notice those little, defining moment’s in a woman’s life that add up over time and make you strong and comfortable in your skin.

The moment when….

…you stop dressing for anyone but yourself.

…you decide to love and embrace your body the way it is.

…you have the balls to turn someone down into their face, rather than being polite and do it anyway.

…you stop lying about your age. In your thirties (and on) you’re actually proud of your age, because you embarrass some of the twenty something year old chicks.

…you stop over analyzing things (unless it’s work related). You’re too busy to read between the lines.

…you don’t try to please EVERYONE. You realize you’re human; you give your best and also give yourself a break.

…you reach a point where if they don’t respond, you believe it’s entirely their loss, and move on with your life.

…you work out on a regular basis not because of losing weight, but because of your desire to lead a healthy lifestyle.

…you are not looking for a man to sweep in and save you from this life. You’re just looking for someone who’s going to balance you out, and support you emotionally and mentally.

…you can’t be bothered with petty drama. Life is too short and your plate is full as it is.

…you realize the only type of woman you have to be is the woman who you really are.

Oh so true, well except for the working out part. Yeah me not so much. I love being in my 30’s. there’s such a sence of relief and lack of pressure. I know how much I’ve grown, and I know so much more than I used to, but also that I have more to learn. Such a great post!

What a great post, I certainly feel more content with myself the older I get. Compared to myself 10 years ago, I’m definitely a different person/woman. And very lovely portrait shots!

I love the last line of the list. “The only type of woman you have to be is the woman you truly are” is my new mantra. Thanks Bogi!

I can’t even begin to tell you how true this is … the things I’ve had to deal with in my 30s, and the things I’ve overcome – I wouldn’t have thought I could’ve made it while I was in my 20s. Here’s to growing older and happier!
