what I have been up to on instagram

Hello everyone! Today, I am sharing with you some of the highlights of what I have been up to on instagram. If you follow me there, you’ll find quite a bit of photos that you don’t see on the blog.

Instagram has been my favorite social media platform. Frankly, I have given up on trying to register and keep up with every social media platform that pops out of nowhere every week. I don’t want to lose perspective of why I started blogging in the first place. Lately, I have seen a few posts or social media ramblings from bloggers openly  complaining about why they haven’t made it big yet? Why it’s not happening for them to be able to make a living off of blogging. Like it or not, it doesn’t happen to all who start blogging. Some of the many reasons might be that blogging these days has become highly competitive and it requires a strong network, a message and high quality images. I find open complaints rather disappointing. What do you think the message is to the reader? I don’t think it’s the right message for them.

On Instagram I share bits and pieces of my life and simple things that inspire my every day. Rick and I started to challenge ourselves with indoor photography. It’s been a great option for us during the cold months, and indoor photography forces us to get more creative and step outside of our comfort zones. Playing with shadowing, lights and trying to create different moods have been a fun challenge.

I hope you find inspiration in these photos and thank you so much for stopping by!

Very pretty photos! I do love Instagram more than any other social platform. I love just being able to scroll through and endless feed of beautiful photos from my favorite bloggers and friends. It’s totally inspired me to be more creative with our photos!

Your photos are always gorgeous. And I have to agree about the open complaining. There’s no way to do it without it coming across negatively. Yes, you may not be a “big” blogger, but by complaining about what you don’t have makes it feel like you don’t value the loyal readers you DO have! And yes, blogging is very competitive, so all you can do is be you! And you, my friend, are fabulous!

All great pics & love the sweet one of you and your hubby! You are right about blogging and that it is so highly competitive that not everyone and frankly I think most bloggers won’t ever get to make it “big” or live off their blogs. You just need to love what you are doing and appreciate the followers you do have. I’ve come across the open complaining quite a bit and also think it’s disappointing and sometimes feels like a pity party which is not fair to the readers. Thanks for sharing and being so honest Bogi!

Such great photos! I’m jealous of your indoor photography. It’s been so cold lately, I wish I could do photos inside, but not quite there yet with my photography skills!
