black outfit, nude pumps
On heavy work days all you want is to look chic and feel comfortable. When I have a long day ahead, I focus on putting together comfortable quality basics, so that I don’t look like I just rolled out of the laundromat after sitting at my desk for four hours. There is something appealing about a completely minimalist outfit. It projects a person who can care less about what people might think of her; she is there to get the job done and go home accomplished.
The nude pumps are subtle twist, when everybody would expect black. Infusing something different into an outfit without pushing the corporate boundaries shows confidence and suggests that the person might actually be not so blend.
As you know, I prefer clean and chic lines, but this is the first time I tried out a completely basic, minimalist all black outfit. Having comfortable layers on made with fabrics that breathe and have some wrinkle resistance do make all the difference. A well fitted outfit allows you to focus on your job rather than worrying about the collar curling up every half an hour or having a skirt on that looks awfully wrinkled after just an hour spent at your desk. These might sound like little, obvious things, yet they distract your attention once you notice those little “annoyances”.
What are your must haves in fabrics and clothing when you try on an item at your favorite store?
