Often times you hear people emphasize how important religious skin care is during the cold months. Skin care is always a priority, at least it should be. You are exposed to more dirt, the strong Sun and sweat mixes with your makeup potentially causing breakouts.

I always emphasize thorough cleansing to remove every last bit off dirt and makeup before applying any products. To be very honest with you, I don’t use anything fancy. I massage my face with fractionated coconut oil and wipe everything off with a wash cloth that I soaked in lukewarm water. I do this 2-3 times and then I apply rose petal witch hazel.

With the summer months just around the corner I switch to products that still bring results yet they absorb much faster. You don’t want to deal with thick creams in 70 degrees unless you’re treating yourself to a spa day at home. I tried and tested the Essentials Collection from Emma Stine for three weeks. The collection includes a bottle of refined jojoba oil (my favorite part of the collection), Hydration & Repair serum, an anti-aging collagen complex and Pearl Lusters, a highlighting powder to finish it all off.

After applying witch hazel to my skin, I massage it with a couple of drops of jojoba oil, then I either apply the hydration & repair serum or the collagen boosting, anti-aging complex (I apply both at night). At first I was a bit skeptical since the texture of the serum was very light and my skin absorbed the products immediately. It took about two weeks to see the results. These super light products do a great job and make your skin look healthy and hydrated. I often times struggle with dried out skin half way through the day and I have to apply at least some hydration spray. I have not needed to use it in the past three weeks. In fact, I am not using moisturizer when applying the Emma Stine products. The Pearl Luster powder is a super light and luxurious finishing to the “hydration session” and it gives a smooth base prior to applying any make up.

This collection is a keeper and a great line for the hot summer months coming. Make sure you still get your beauty sleep, drink lots of water and take your vitamins! Taking care of your skin from the inside is as important as what you expose it to.

Happy weekend, friends!
