citron velvet

What do you think about this bold color? This blazer has so many interesting elements while maintaining a classic and polished flare. I find the bold citron paired with the velvet fabric quite outstanding. The hue is very close to a mustard, sort of hinting that fall season is just around the corner. I love the simple, one button closure paired with the interesting collar design. I call it the “stand-up collar”. This jacket is most definitely a statement piece; despite of its unique elements I find it a timeless garment. Probably wouldn’t recommend it for your next meeting with your executives, however it is excellent for a creative office, casual Fridays or even off duty if you love blazers as much as I do.

I picked up these jeans from Old Navy and my oh, my am I pleased with the design and the quality! Finally a pair of mid-rise jeans that are flattering and totally affordable! I have no idea why would anyone spend hundreds on a good pair of jeans when there is this option for under $50! Great quality, it’s true to size and I personally prefer the dark wash just because it gives the whole outfit a more put together feel.

And while talking about great quality garments that fill holes in your wardrobe, let me brag about this t-shirt from Doc Shorty! All American company that makes all of their t-shirts right here in the USA! Most important part: these t-shirts are insanely soft (made out of cotton and polyester). They are true to size; one of the reasons why I usually stay away from t-shirt shopping is the fact that I end up looking like a little pigeon in a big potato sack. This one is nicely fitted with some room to be comfortable. The company donates 10% of their profits to multiple sclerosis research. Several reasons to support these guys. A closer look on this t-shirt is coming soon on the blog. Until then, take a look of what Doc Shorty has to offer HERE.

Wishing you all a great rest of the week!

I absolutely love the blazer ! Imagine where I’m heading to first thing tomorrow: Banana Republic. I am not so sure about the velvety texture so I need to literally get my hands on it. The color and cut are both outstanding !

Hi Julia! Yes, I definitely recommend to touch and feel the fabric before buying it. Velvet might not be everybody’s thing. I don’t own many velvety garments, but the very few I have I get a lot of wear out of. Have fun at Banana Republic and let me know what you think!
