navy lace jumpsuit
Jumpsuits come and go in fashion. They have good times and not so good times. Jumpsuits never really become a huge trend in fashion like culottes or fringes do. I am not sure what the reason is, but I know why I rarely wear them: because they are a pain for all day wear. They can be as perfectly fitted and outstanding as jumpsuits possibly can be, but the bottom line is that getting in and out of the ladies room is not so much in-n’-out with a jumpsuit. For that reason I never wear jumpsuits for work. …even if it’s a jumpsuit made appropriate for office wear. Instead, I opt for jumpsuits when I think, I may get back home before nature calls me. Coffee dates, dinners or family visits.
The one I styled today has an interesting pattern with a lacey texture. The fabric is delicate, hence I recommend some layering underneath. The deep V-neckline may or may not be appropriate depending on the occasion. Generally, I am no longer comfortable with showing too much skin, so a tee underneath is my answer. The trousers portion has a subtle flare design. These cropped flare / culottes sort of designs are still quite the trend these days. I consider this the kind of trend something that is rather hard to style without looking like a midget. …but not impossible. You may find this post HERE interesting on a few clever tips on styling culotte jumpsuits. And if you are looking for culottes styling ideas that won’t take away from the length of your legs and keep proporations in balance, I recommend this post HERE.
