statement sleeves | knit turtleneck top X structured jacket
The trend setter statement sleeve is something that comes in an endless variety and it gives you options to incorporate it into your casual work outfits and be edgy and bold when you are off-duty. I chose this turtleneck, knit sweater to experiment the sleeve trend and in order to push myself a little bit, I wore it to work the other day. Trends are ultra easy to style when you don’t have dress code policies to comply with, but the moment you want to implement trends in the corporate environment, you have to get clever and creative to do so without crossing lines.
First I paired the top with these pants, a navy blazer and a pair of loafers. The overall look ended up being very monochromatic, highlighting the sleeves well, but still a little lifeless. In the second round I swapped out the shoes and the jacket to these pink ones. I think the added color complements the playful sleeves nicely. They work well on casual Fridays and the overall look is still polished and presentable. If you are not a fan of pink, I found a much lighter version of this jacket HERE.
