classic white blouse
The better I get at cooking, the less often hubby and I eat out during the week. Nevertheless, it’s always nice to have a date night to look forward to even if it’s just to have a cocktail and catch up with each other’s work life. For those days, I like to incorporate at least one piece into my work day look that easily transitions into a casual chic outfit. The last thing I want to bother with after getting through traffic is completely changing my outfit. Plus, I am usually starved by that time, hence it takes an effort not to start putting anything within reach into my mouth until we reach a restaurant.
Basic white blouses with a bow on front have been an up and coming trend. This piece from Como Vintage comes in black and a striped version as well and you can either tie the attached belt to the back or use it as an accessory in the front. Tying the belt in the back creates a blank canvas on the front that can be styled with a vest or accessorized with chunky or long statement necklaces. I opted for pearls which kept the first look very simplistic.
Tying up the belt in the front and adding a cropped jacket or a blazer creates a lot more interest. The jacket adds structure and the different lengths create an effortless vibe without distorting your proportions. This blouse has been on rotation in my wardrobe quite a bit, just because it is such a versatile basic with an added twist. I would recommend it.
