statement suit
I love a bold colored statement suit. Do you remember this one HERE? Some may say that it’s not appropriate for a conservative, corporate environment, but I beg to differ. Sure, it will not necessarily be my first choice when I know I will be working with board members (and they don’t know me so well), but I don’t hesitate to reach for one of my statement suits when it’s a day of internal meetings or no meetings at all. When you are your own boss or you work in a creative office, you can most definitely pull this off any day of the week.
The suit I chose for today’s outfit is made by Calvin Klein. The mid-rise design of the pants and the cropped jacket gives you just enough coverage at your waist plus a couple of extra inches. The pants are made out of a lightweight, comfortable blend of fabric (combination of polyester, rayon and spandex); they are unlined and the gold tone buttons on the waistband add an elegant finishing touch. This time of the year you want to layer underneath these pants. As for the sizing, I recommend to size down. The pair I ordered was way to too big for me around the waist. You can find them either at your local Macy’s or online HERE. The same pants are also available in grey HERE.
The blazer is made out of polyester and it’s fully lined. The zipper pockets and the faux leather details give it a bit of an edge. This blazer is actually quite versatile. It pairs excellent with high-waist skirts as well as faux-leather leggings or jeans if you wanted to polish up your weekend look. This jacket runs true to size and it’s available in red HERE and in grey HERE.
