As time goes on, I lay more emphasis on classic lines and comfort when it comes to clothing. I still certainly am a sucker for fashion and open to try out new things, however I get more hesitant when it comes to potentially invest into a piece that I know will be short lived. A great example for that is the off-the-shoulder and cold shoulder trend. Sure, I have a few of those tops, but I make sure I only pay for what I think they’re worth. If it’s an item that is very unique and hot right now, I am not willing to pay much for. However, if I see a value, quality and long term wear, then I am more willing to look at it as an investment piece.
This textured, batwing sweater is a great example. I love the cozy, high-volume silhouette and the quality of the fabric. This is a sweater that I see myself wear during more than one season for years to come no matter the current trends. The chic slouchy styling paired with the horizontal ribbing is different yet timeless. Chico’s really knows how to balance classic style with modern elements.
