reds and dots

I’ve reached the point in my pregnancy where I can’t get away with my regular clothes any more. Pants fit with a rubber band only, forget about the pencil skirts (even the stretchy ones are telling me “you’re pushing it“) and I’ve given up on anything button up long time ago. My Karina dresses are the only ones that fit me comfortably and I did not have to size up! If you follow this blog, you already know how much I love these types of dresses. The classic, vintage inspired style, the feminine lines, the non-wrinkle fabric are all wonderful features that I appreciate during those busy mornings getting ready for the day. The fabric is absolutely amazing! It’s not not just 100% wrinkle free and flowy, but it does stretch quite a bit without making me feel uncomfortable. I am seven months pregnant and I can still wear my regular XS in the Karina dresses. I absolutely love them and can recommend them highly.

This time around I certainly have more of those “I really feel pregnant” days. Maternity tights and bras have been amazing lifesavers and recently I ordered this maternity belt that has been doing a wonderful job to relieve my lower back pain. I always considered myself a disciplined person when it comes to exercise and diet, but boy does this pregnancy put a true challenge on that discipline. This time of my life truly slaps me in the face and lets me know how much I actually used to cheat that I can’t / shouldn’t do so much. Believe it or not, I’ve become a lot more diligent about exercising this time around. My doctor just cannot encourage it enough and how good it is for both baby and mama. The bigger I get, the harder those workouts become, but you know what they relive a lot of the aches, ease the swollen feet and get the circulation going. As for the diet, I cheat a whole lot less than I used to. I feel very strongly about eating healthy and unprocessed foods especially during pregnancy. Let’s be honest, when you’re pregnant you gain weight no matter what. The last thing you need is empty calories and sugar that neither your body, nor the baby needs. I’ve become a regular at the local farmers market and a fan of the Cullipher and Full Quiver Farm. Once you try farm raised meat, you can’t go back. Plus those families take me back home growing up with farmer parents.
